Go Green for Better Health

Going green doesn’t just have to be only about saving the environment. Going green introduces a way of acting into your life that relies more on your own energy and ingenuity than on man-made conveniences. This self reliant attitude leads to increased confidence because you see how much you can do by yourself, without calorie-indulgent conveniences. It also often leads to weight loss since you work harder to accomplish what you need to.

One of the most important factors in going green is reducing the amount of time you spend in a car. Instead, you are encouraged to ride a bicycle or walk to the store, the dry cleaner’s, the pharmacy, and so on. This reduces the amount of carbon in the air and helps get you fit. It is a very small sacrifice to make for big changes in your body.

Another aspect of green living is eating locally produced foods. For the most part, this will include locally grown vegetables and meat from local farms. This encourages you to eat more healthy foods and, since your food doesn’t have to stay fresh while traveling across the country, it has less sodium and preservatives.
